Board of Directors approves amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

At its July 2026 meeting, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.

The amendments relate to Face Seal, Automotive Lifts, and Periodic Certification. Strikethrough versions of the amendments with explanatory notes can be accessed below. Deletions in the regulatory amendments are identified with a strikethrough and additions are in bold text and highlighted in yellow.

• Part 8, Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment — Respirators: Face Seal
  Approved amendments with explanatory notes
  These amendments will come into effect on November 6, 2026.
• Part 12, Tools, Machinery and Equipment — Automotive Lifts and Other Vehicle Supports
  Approved amendments with explanatory notes
  These amendments will come into effect on March 1, 2027.
• Parts 4, 13, 14, 20, 28, and 31 — Periodic Certification of Equipment as Safe for Use
  Approved amendments with explanatory notes
  These amendments will come into effect on September 1, 2027.
