What is job rotation?

Job rotation is when your employees move between different tasks during their workday. It’s meant to reduce injury by reducing a worker’s exposure to risk factors associated with Musculoskeletal Injury (MSI).

An MSI is an injury or disorder of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, blood vessels, or related soft tissue. It’s commonly known as a sprain, strain, or inflammation that may be caused or aggravated by work.

Job rotation is used by many employers, in varying industries. However, the types of tasks and the sequencing of those tasks often do not provide the necessary recovery needed to avoid muscle fatigue, and in turn MSI.
