Injuries Caused by Overexertion During Accustomed Work

On January 27, 2021, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved policy changes regarding injuries caused by overexertion during accustomed work. These changes clarify that it is not a bar to compensation if an injury results from work activities to which a worker is accustomed and has previously performed without injury.

The policy changes came into effect on February 15, 2021.
